The original Cochineal Red is a transparent, deep red obtained from cochineal scale insects and was once an important colour for watercolour paintings.The Horadam Aquarell Watercolour range from Schmincke is an impressive range that doesn't compromise in quality. The professional range features a wide range of colours with many produced from one pigment only, producing the very cleanest of mixes, colour clarity and brilliance.
The colours feature a Kodorfan Gum Arabic binder which is from the Southern Sahara and is unique to this range from Schmincke.
