I've enjoyed using the smaller, business card sized version of these palettes – they're great when something really portable and discreet is needed. I find the tiny square pans a bit impractical, though, which means the smaller palettes can't take more than 14 colours – fewer if you want a mixing pan for washes. So I'm looking forward to setting up this folio palette. I think it will work well with 15 colours: 12 in the rectangular pans, and 3 more commonly used colours in the larger square pans, while still having lots of mixing space. The size is still very convenient: roughly the size of a Field Notes or Moleskine pocket notebook when closed. I wish the Folio palette were a little cheaper for what it is but I recognise that these come from a small business in North America and with the exchange rate and the costs of shipping at present, this is still a fair price.

I've had the smaller pocket palette version of this for about a year or so and absolutely loved it. Slowly but surely, adding some more colours meant less mixing space. Time to upgrade.
The Folio palette provides the same non-fuss, sleek design that I love Art Toolkit. The option to purchase with a variety of different inserts is fantastic and be sure to have a little think if it's worth adding some of the pans when getting this one to accommodate your needs. Judging on the smaller version, the white background of the mixing spaces will not stay white in the long run - but that could just be not cleaning them regularly and using staining pigments.
10/10 would recommend this one which comes in at 117gr for the current configuration filled with paint. I pair this set with a small watercolour notebook and some rosemary travel brushes to make a lightweight backpacking travel kit.

Super compact water colour palette, great for keeping in my hand bag for when l am out and about and feel like painting. The smallest pans are super small which might not bother some but l prefer the rectangle pans as you can fit more paint and more surface area for the brush to pick up paint. I will invest in another smaller pan to use as a mixing palette and add more pans of colour to my larger palette.
