Ox hair brushes offer painters great versatility in brush stroke and is very silky to the touch. It is strong and resilient but it lacks a fine point. The 244 series are made of a finer "light ox" hair and is good for watercolours due to it's water retention capacity. This hair is not very common in today's market place and has largely been replaced with synthetic hair.
