These da Vinci SPIN-SYNTHETICS Wash brushes series 488 are traditionally-bound brushes with modern hairs. They are designed for large areas, watercolour wash techniques and silk painting.

da Vinci SPIN-SYNTHETICS Wash brushes series 488 have very supple, light brown SPIN SYNTHETIC fibres which give greater elasticity, making them also ideal for ink painting and extra-rough watercolour card with a torchon structure.

After watching what can be achieved with this one brush a number of my students were keen to use one too.

This is an ideal brush for all tasks within a watercolour painting

I provide one in each of my starters kits to encourage a good range of brush stroke control

A favourite of mine. It holds its point for its size and is quite versatile for washes and detail in watercolour.

I was asked to purchase this brush by the teacher of the watercolour course I'm attending, so he is happy with it and using it during the course I was also impressed. Its good pigment and water holding ability, it is light to hold, and easy to use, for large areas and (with a good point) small touches. I think it will become a favourite.

I use several size variants of Da Vinci synthetic. This is just one of the amazing brushes in my kit. A must have for that serious artist.

While it would be tempting to give 2 stars so they are specialled off again, I am delighted with the versatility, control and water holding properties of this brush! A very very good product. Main use for me, plein air watercolour. Equal to da vinci 435.

As a Watercolour tutor I am constantly recommending the Da Vinci Spin Synthetic brushes to my students and fellow artists.They can hold so mush paint and water and will always bounce back into shape! I have been using my size 4 for ten years now and onto my second size 2 brush. These are the only two brushes I use for both small & large paintings.

After seeing my favourite watercolour artist Joseph Zbukvic using these amazing brushes I had to try them. Wow, the diversity of stroke and pigment placement is amazingly diverse. From wide cover to pin-point lines, all from a single brush, makes these hand-made brushes an extremely valuable tool to any artists tool set. I bought several sizes 'No 2, No 4 & No 6' so I could cover the entire range of strokes. I am glad I did. An awesome purchase for which I am a better artist.
