I bought this to use experimenting with the Zorn palette. It makes a good range of colours when used with cadmium red light and yellow ochre, plus white, in that application. However, I prefer Paynes Grey to Ivory Black in a Zorn application because it gives a livelier range of colours, especially cooler colours.

A lovely ivory black, the darkest you can get, not weak or brownish like some other companies' ivory blacks, and not too oily like many are. A very well-made paint.
