Who could paint without burnt sienna? I've used it for about 55 years in oils and watrcolour, Mixes with French ultramarine to make a lovely warm or cool grey, mixes with sap green and olive green for warmth, and with cadmium orange and Naples yellow to make beautiful coppery shades. I love to paint the colour of soil by using it with raw umber and cobalt blue.
