I have never used black from a tube previously. I prefer to mix my own as I felt I got more life in the colour.
An art tutor had this on her list of paints to bring to the class. Dutifully, I purchased it.
I was pleasantly surprised at the results I achieved. It works well painting animals fine details around their eyes.
Winsor and Newton paints are always reliable and give good coverage in my paintings. Lamp Black is terrific in adding depth to backgrounds and gives the painting a good base.

Maybe not the most exciting color to purchase but as always true to color. Winsor & Newton = reliable.
Although I am always happy to try other brands I have to admit that Winsor and Newton are the best. What you see is what you get and always reliable.
