These ultra-light pine stretchers are our cheapest option, but are nonetheless sturdy enough for many artists' purposes- this is because they are produced from the same clear grade, kiln-dried Hoop Pine as our larger-profile Professional Quality Pine stretchers. Clear grade means that the timber is supplied free of knots. Hoop Pine is a superior timber to Radiata and other pine species commonly used for stretcher arms, as it is less prone to warping. These stretchers are laminated and finger jointed for added stability.

Please note: No bracing is available for Light Weight Pine Stretchers.

Profile: 45mm width, 20mm thickness
Bevel: 6.34 degrees, i.e. 20mm outside thickness, 15mm inside thickness
Join: European mitred mortice and tenon with slots for wedges

The quality of the product is fine, the problem I experience in assembling them is to achieve a truly square and parallel result so that the stretchers are identical and consistent.
