I love using Saunders Waterford blocks for Urban Sketching and en plein air watercolour sketches. They keep my paper flat no matter how humid it is. Drying quickly, it's easy to use a small butter knife to slide through the glued edge to remove the painting on the occasions that I am lucky enough to sell on site. I've been using Saunders Waterford 300gsm for the last ten years as it doesn't cockle like other well-known brands. It holds my favourite watercolour paint well. With sensitive handsI have decided to use up the sheets that I already have and switch totally to comfortable blocks.
Wonderful as always. A great rival to arches, at a fraction of the price.
Love using blocks and this product does not disappoint.
The cover of this watercolour block says it's WHITE but the it's actually an off white, leaning toward beige.
PLUS,... I paid $40.59 and here it is at $36.08,... Now that's annoying !!
I love working with watercolor blocks as there is no need to stretch paper and a good base to work on when painting outdoors (less to cart with you). I like Saunders because it is consistent quality and I have never had difficulty lifting completed work from gummed edges
