This reliable favourite, Winsor & Newton painting medium. Liquin™ Original halves the drying time of oil colour and reduces brush stroke retention (touch dry in 1-6 days depending on colour & film thickness).
Creates a smooth, gel-like paint film that is easier to work with. Allows the paint to dry faster and aids working with multiple layers.
Resists yellowing.
Not suitable as a varnish or final coat.

This is really easy to use and creates a nice, and manageable, consistency with paint. The consistency allows it to be placed on the palette with the colours instead of in a separate container. My only problem with it is that it’s probably quite toxic even though it doesn’t smell much.
Brilliant fast delivery as I was going travelling. Great quality.
I always use Liquin with my oil paints to make quick drying glazes. A wonderful medium.
I've been using this medium for twenty years and fully recommend it to any other artists.
Liquin is a good product as a medium for oil painting, helping to thin the paints and make painting smoother if that's what is required and also speeding up drying time. A 50:50 ratio of linseed oil and turpentine is the traditional medium and also very good for the same ends, and gloss is also improved as with Liquin. I like Liquin but probably would not buy it again because of cost. The traditional mixture is cheaper to make.
