The A6 Nostalgie sketchbook has been my preferred "everyday carry" sketchbook for a few years now. The beautifully smooth, white paper is an absolute delight for drawing with ink, and works well for graphite drawing, whether precise or expressive, as well as colour pencils, aquarelle crayons and so on. If you're the kind of sketcher who likes to write or take notes in your sketchbook, this is a good choice. At the same time, the 190gsm weight and however the paper has been sized means that it takes wet media surprisingly well. You won't be able to go all-out with traditional watercolour techniques, but for ink and wash, or adding watercolour to a sketch, it's excellent, and the colours are bright and flow well. Other pluses include a good, lay-flat binding and a robust cover that doesn't feel too "precious". In summary, the Nostalgie is a very versatile sketchbook that represents good value for money given its high quality, even more so when you can pick it up at sale prices. I recomme
