I have never used black from a tube previously. I prefer to mix my own as I felt I got more life in the colour. An art tutor had this on her list of paints to bring to the class. Dutifully, I purchased it. I was pleasantly surprised at the results I achieved. It works well painting animals fine details around their eyes.

Winsor and Newton paints are always reliable and give good coverage in my paintings. Lamp Black is terrific in adding depth to backgrounds and gives the painting a good base. Violet Andrew

Maybe not the most exciting color to purchase but as always true to color. Winsor & Newton = reliable.
