Product excellent for Nitram charcoal, particularly the hard sticks. Long lasting grit. Most other sharpening block/pads are far to quickly rendered smooth by hard charcoal. Very good size for long sharp points.

Works well for adding that finer point for charcoal sticks, willow charcoal., and charcoal pencils. Reasonable result with pastel pencils as well.
