Description
What it does:
Creates a crackled texture as it dries on rigid surfaces
Dries to a hard, opaque finish
Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality
How to use it:
Use on rigid supports only
Can be used on its own and painted over once dry
Can be mixed with acrylic color - using no more than 15% paint to 85% medium
Apply paste evenly to surface with a palette knife
Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before painting over
Cracking will vary depending on how thickly you apply it - the effects will be more obvious on thicker applications but will take longer to dry
When using on wood, seal with a base layer of fluid/gel medium and let dry before Crackle Paste application
Fully compatible with all Liquitex products
Recommended thickness for crackling effect is between 5 and 10 mm
How not to use it:
Don't dilute with water
Don't force dry with a fan or heater as this may result in less or no cracking
Don't try and slow the drying time by adding a slow drying medium as this will affect crackling effect
