Description
Paint with Charcoal
Nitram Liquid Charcoal is water soluble, so you can adjust the values from very light to a deep, rich black. Straight out of the tube, it is as thick as oil paint; you could even use a palette knife. It dries very fast.

I was so curious how this liquid charcoal would work. After testing it, I found it beautifully granulating and has a slight textural feel after it drys. It creates the illusion of 3D marks depending on how loaded the brush strokes. It re-wets from a ceramic surface the next day. It lifts while still wet on the paper though won’t lift once it’s dried. It may still smudge after it’s dried on the paper, so you could use a fixative if needed. I’m looking forward to making a big art piece with it.
