Description
The Sendak Artist Roll is designed with the nomadic artist in mind. This treasure carries your current arsenal of tools with you from the studio to coffee shop to en plein air.
In the Kent family, the Sendak has become an interactive centerpiece. Placed in the center of a table or picnic blanket, a group of drawers and dreamers gathers ’round. A session begins and ends with the Sendak, filled with a bouquet of colors, brushes and pens. As its namesake Maurice Sendak wrote, “Let the wild rumpus start!” And get messy – because clean-up is easy!

I'm quite new to watercolour painting and decided to treat myself to a really lovely artist roll so I can carry everything I need for plein air. I wanted something portable, functional and well designed. I've been really happy with the Sendak. It is compact, yet has plenty of space for a small travel palette, a set of six travel brushes, an A6 or smaller journal, pens and pencils. I've also managed to cram a small pair of scissors in it, and the zippered pocket easily holds an aqua brush, roll of washi tape and a collapsable shot glass that I use for water (and for storing my kneaded eraser inside the lid when I'm not using it).
It is expensive and exquisite, and the quality and craftsmanship is stunning. I feel it will last a very long time, so I doubt I'll need to repurchase for myself. I would absolutely consider buying it as a gift for a loved one though.

Excellent quality, and not as heavy or bulky as other waxed canvas items.
