Essential palette resident, French Ultramarine is a gloriously granulating Lapis Lazuli. Taking it’s granulating properties with it’s transparency when mixed with other hues, this pigment expresses it’s versatility adding texture and vibrancy when creating blacks, and beautiful purples with opera rose, a lovely velvety feel for rose petals.

Windsor and Newton paints are always my first choice. I love painting with them.

One of the most pretty and useful blues, in my opinion. Transparency if perfect combined with a clear granulation. Being a warm blue it projects beautifully forward in a painting.
