The Berge boards have a surface smooth as glass. There is no 'tooth' for the paint to adhere to. I re-gessoed them but still found them impossible to paint on. Paint slides across the surface and it is impossible to get rid of the streaky brush marks. If we are painting with oil or acrylic we need a surface with a canvas like tooth . Most paint boards do have such a surface. Its the first time I have bought this product and I could not recommend it to other artists. Its a disappointing mistake to have tried it as it is not fit for purpose.
