This palette will replace a small Schmincke sketching palette I have used for a number of years. I wanted to try something different. This is slightly longer. Nice to have extra room for washes. I will probably put a few extra full pans where your brush would go as this is my sketching palette. I will get 16 half pans and 4 full pans in the brush holding area, maybe another half pan. At first I thought you could not use the brush area but there are two metal rails that slide out so you can insert the pans. Good deal! Very nicely made...in Italy. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for sketching palette. I have not filled mine yet...as I live in Queensland and I am waiting for the weather to be slightly less humid.
