The Blender is a tool to be used in conjunction with any Winsor & Newton promarker brush. It should be applied either as an under layer or alongside wet ink to create subtle graduations of colour. A coating of Blender applied to your surface keeps the ink wetter for longer, allowing the colour to be more malleable. As well as this, it helps achieve the smoothest coverage, eliminating any potential felt marks. Double-ended, the Blender has a broad chisel nib, useful for blending larger areas; and a fine bullet tip for more detailed work.
Why is this an unsung hero?
Instead of smudging or shading pencil work with a finger, the brush blender is more accurate, and the result is smoother. When I tried it on a drawing, the smudges were a darker shade, giving more variance.
