Jean Haines is an Internationally renowned watercolourist and author of best-selling books including “Atmospheric Watercolours”. Described as a “breath of fresh air” on the art scene, Jean’s ability to instill enthusiasm and inspirational motivation is captured in her popular DVDs, books and sold out workshops globally.

“A fabulous selection of shining shades that can be used in so many beautiful ways. Mix with existing watercolour pigment, use alone or as a glaze to turn an ordinary painting into a stunning piece of art. Subjects can look fantastic when painted in watercolour but they can sometimes lack the lustre of life as seen in reality. Colour additions with one or more of the shades from my shimmer sets can beautifully bring them to life.” -Jean Haines

The new Jean Haines’ All That Shimmers Watercolor Set is a special, 5ml tube collection of six DANIEL SMITH Luminescent (Shimmering) Watercolors selected by Jean Haines that add special reflective depth and color which regular colors cannot. This is a magical set that can add unique shimmer to enhance a diverse variety of subjects from gossamer butterfly wings, dewy florals, to racing horses and jockeys, and so much more!

Jean Haines has selected these shimmering DANIEL SMITH Luminescent colors:

Iridescent Ruby
Iridescent Aztec Gold
Pearlescent White
Iridescent Electric Blue
Iridescent Topaz

I don't use iridescent paint much so only wanted 5 ml tubes. This set is fantastic and has almost every colour you could want (it misses out on metallic shades but that's ok). Excellent price point for paints that are lovely but not used as much for me. Really happy I found this set.

For a watercolorist you cannot go past the Daniel Smith watercolours. They have no one competition in the market place for colour, and grade. They granulate beautifully and I find that by using a wet brush first on the page then just touching the colour to it I get the most beautiful flowers. I do have one rule, put it down and don't touch it. I have seen others who try to then move it around like any other water colour paint. I have found that by putting the shape down first and making it wet enough then dipping my colour brush in next just in one spot for the bleed it will develop in to a stunning creation. No help from me.
That may sound repetitive, I meant it to be. After it dries if you want to retouch go ahead but remember that first time will be your best.

The colours are stunning. They mix beautifully with other daniel smith colours and add a little sparkle to my paintings.
