Permanent Magenta is less purple than Quinacridone Magenta and leans slightly towards blue. It is based on a Quinacridone pigment which was introduced in the 1950s, which is very staining and has a high tinting strength. It makes very deep and vibrant violets when mixed with Ultramarine Blue
