u.go™ Anywhere™ Pochade Box was designed for travel from sea to summit and anywhere in between.  The products are designed and manufactured by New Wave® in Pennsylvania, USA.  Each tree's inherent beauty, shown in the grain lines, knots, and varying wood tones, combines with our work handcrafting each pochade box to create an item that is uniquely yours. Patent Pending.

Size/Weight:  Measuring 11"x14.5"x1.25," the largest model (Item #00701) is ultra lightweight at 3.15 lbs, with palette included.

Materials:  The product is made using Baltic Birch wood, while stainless steel and aluminum accents provide strength where needed most.  All hardware is non-corrosive.

Wood Finish:  The Baltic Birch is hand sanded, and finished with New Wave® proprietary wood finish for maximum durability.  The finish is non-porous, dense, and resistant to water as well as standard artist solvents and mediums.  In addition, the finish is crack proof, chip proof, and non-yellowing.

Magnetic Components:  Strong rare earth magnets are used for the closure, panel/canvas holder,  removable side wall for palette cleaning/replacement, and accessory side tray attachment.

Friction Hinges: Sturdy 180° range of motion to position the pochade box as vertical or horizontal as you would like. Horizontal set up is perfect for watercolor painting.

Tripod Mount:  Anywhere™ Pochade Boxes are compatible with universal 1/4" tripod mounts.

Palette:  A high density plastic palette is included.  Oil paints can be removed with solvents, and dry acrylic paint peels off.  A tempered glass upgrade is available in grey or clear for item #00701.

Paint Storage:  Paint dabs can be stored on the palette when the lid is closed due to a recessed palette and recessed lid.

Recessed Storage Compartment: Located at the rear of the palette measuring approximately 9.5"x1.12" and 0.88" in depth with a closed lid.  Can be used to hold paint brushes, paint tubes, wet paint dabs, etc.

Product Storage: Smooth exterior free of protruding wood or metal components allows for quick and easy storage in any pack.

Surfaces: Maximum Recommended Painting Surface is 14" Vertical.  Teeth on the stainless steel panel holders are capable of holding panels as thin as 1/16" and stretched canvas up to 3/4" thick. Product is ideal for 1/8" panels ensuring an ultralight setup.

Accessories:  Item #00701 includes one u.go™ Cinch made from silicone.  For use with glass palette upgrade or hanging tools.  Side trays and additional items available.

Incredibly lightweight but the build quality is noticeably good. A uniqueness in the knots and finish of the box is a nice wee visual treat, too. Bought on the suggestion another reviewer stated it worked well both as a desktop easel and a pochade box outdoors - and it definitely does both. I invested in the glass, grey, palette too and would definitely recommend -- it adds some weight, which is a downside for sure -- but the upsides are well worth. Strong hinges, have had no issues with magnet strength -- probably my only complaint, but not enough to knock off a star, is that painting with a palette knife conflicts with the magnets in the middle of the canvas (but does a great job holding my palette knife on the sides where the additional shelves would be installed).

Lightweight and easy to take away with a moments notice. All the parts come together to make a great painting easel for the outdoors.

I bought a Pochade box to use travelling and to do watercolours. Which you need to attach a flat surface to support the paper. It’s good in theory but the bottom bar has very little gap / claw like to grasp the board. I found a 3 mm plastic coated sheet to fit. The top arm seems to have a wider grip. If you want to work small then this works fine. I will be using A3 size . A cross bar magnetitzed would help to stabilise the support. Otherwise it is a beautiful functional box. The pallet slides out with a magnetic side bar and the lid collapses down with another magnet which keeps it snugly closed.

A fantastic field easel for the minimalist. It fits in my backpack and is strong enough to hold even large watercolour blocks. Beautifully made and super practical. I even use it as my desk easel now when it’s not mounted onto a tripod

Love it! Totally worth the investment.
It's light weight. Easy to use and clean. Looks elegant and is compact. This is my first pochade box and I feel like I made a great choice. I did so much research, and even tried to build my own. Save your self the time and energy. Just buy this one.

Thrilled to have received so promptly my new U Go Plein Air Prochard Box. It’s so fun easy to set up and use with my universal tripod. The service from ordering it online to shipment was seamless. Worth noting that was the great pricing of this item, compared to several other shops I researched in Australia, Senior Art offered the cheapest price. Love Senior Art as my supplier over many other stores and even if it means I do most of my purchasing online it offers great service along with some unique products.

Big thank you to Senior Art
